Privacy Policy

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise make available your email address or other personal information to anyone for any purpose.

Altarena is committed to protecting your online privacy while providing you with the most useful and enjoyable Web experience possible. While you can use many features of our website anonymously, in some cases we ask your for contact information or other limited personal information.

By using this site, you agree to the following Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Terms of Use

  • If you are under 18, you will not furnish any personal contact information without the consent of a parent or adult guardian.
  • If you are under 13, you will not use this site at all, thereby rendering inapplicable the provisions of the 1998 Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

How we collect and use personal information

If we ever ask you for contact information, we use it only to advise you of upcoming events you may be interested in.  Every email you receive from us has a “one-click unsubscribe” link at the bottom.

If you would rather not receive US Mail mailings such as postcards and flyers, you can email webmaster@altarena.org with your name and mailing address to be removed from the list.

Some of our promotional email messages may contain an “invisible GIF”, which helps us track how many subscribers are opening our emails. Most email systems allow you to block the operation of this mechanism by turning off “embedded images”, although as a result you may not see pictures in our emails either.

If you respond to a promotion advertised in our email, we may ask for additional information required for promotion fulfillment.

We do not allow other organizations to send mail or email via our lists. From time to time we may occasionally include information about partners’ events in our emails, but all such emails originate from us and no one other than Altarena has access to the mailing list.

If you leave a comment on our Web site, you may need to identify your email address.

Financial information (credit card numbers, etc.)

Altarena does not collect or store credit card numbers. Online ticket sales are handled through our ticketing system, Audience1st, operated by A1 Patron Systems Inc. Information collected by them is subject to their rigorous privacy policy. Your credit card transactions are securely routed by them through our payment processor Authorize.net, and your credit card number is not retained after the transaction is authorized.

We occasionally offer a limited number of promotional tickets through external vendors such as Goldstar Events. Sales handled by external vendors are subject to each vendor’s privacy policy.

How we use “cookies”

“Cookies” are small pieces of information that some Web sites store on your computer’s hard drive when you visit them. We use cookies to identify you as a returning visitor and to assist in site navigation. Most Web browsers allow you to modify security settings so you can approve or reject cookies on a case-by-case basis. If you do not use cookies, you can still access all of the information content on our site, but cookies must be enabled in order to purchase tickets online. Cookie data is used only to track your session on our sites and is never shared with any other sites.

What we provide to third parties

Altarena does not provide any third-party access to your personal information except as required by law.

Obtaining your consent

By using our Web site, you give Altarena permission to collect information about the pages served to you as an anonymous user for the purpose of calculating aggregate site statistics.

If you are under the age of 18, you must not provide your name, e-mail address, or any other identifying information without the consent of your parent or guardian, or as otherwise provided for by applicable law.

Any changes to our privacy policy will be posted on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
