Local Alameda winemaker Kevin Brown and his wife Barbara, proprietors of R&B Cellars (whose lively wines you’ve tasted if you have attended any Altarena opening night receptions or our Fundraiser), were featured this weekend in the San Francsico Chronicle! We’re proud of our partnerships with local businesses, and thrilled that Kevin and Barbara’s family-owned winery is getting much-deserved recognition!

We’re thrilled to announce that Richard Robert Bunker has joined Altarena as Director of Education! Richard is a longtime Altarena actor, director (The Nerd, The Foreigner, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), supporter, and lead instructor of the highly successful Summer Theatre Camp program.

Patrick Kenney, Altarena Advisory Board member and founder of Cairdea Design & Marketing, was recognized for starting Hike for the Cure, a Boy Scout hike to raise money for cancer research. As Scoutmaster, Patrick leads Troop 88, which he joined in 1971! We’re proud to partner with local businesses like Cairdea led by community leaders like Patrick Kenney.
