Directions and Public Transportation

The Altarena Playhouse is located at 1409 High Street (between Central Ave. and Santa Clara Ave.) in Alameda, California.

If traveling by car: Take I-880 to the High Street exit west (toward Alameda). Proceed across the High Street Bridge. Continue on High Street about 1/2 mile. You’ll see our green awning on the right side of the street. Get detailed directions from Google Maps.

Street Parking is usually readily available in the area around the theater. Please allow a few minutes to get from your car to the theater.

If traveling by public transportation: Take BART to Fruitvale station, then AC Transit bus 63 to corner of High St. and Santa Clara Ave.
