Altarena Playhouse presents Steve Martin’s hilarious and thought-provoking comedy Picasso at the Lapin Agile.

Paris, October 1904: The Lapin Agile, beloved Montmartre watering hole to struggling artists and would-be geniuses, welcomes two young, and soon-to-be legends, for one extraordinary night. Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein, whose egos are as big as their intellects, spar with the quirky and unique regulars and each other about art, science, fame, inspiration, sex, love, and the promise of the 20th century. Throw into this mix a mysterious visitor, and you’re in for a brilliant, witty and hilariously charming evening of theatre.

Altarena’s production will incorporate Mr. Martin’s revisions from the 2017 revival version.

Altarena favorite Timothy Beagley directs, hot on the heels of his smash hit One Man Two Guvnors, which played to sellout crowds at Altarena last fall. He also directed Eat The Runt and Boeing-Boeing, both crowd pleasers and box office blockbusters at Altarena.

Cast, director, and Altarena artistic director Katina Letheule are available for press and interviews.
